The National Women’s Hall of Fame, at the Center for Impact and Inspiration, sought to create an Introductory Exhibit as a preview to their larger goals.

The exhibits are a hint of what is to come when the Center is able to renovate and occupy the entire four floors of the historic Seneca Knitting Mill.

FRAME collaborated with Allison CraigSundine, Doug Munday, Rachel Moritz, Kate Rosendale, JREMco and Hadley Exhibits. The team designed and fabricated exhibits that provide a rich stand-alone experience to serve the museum during their fundraising and awareness campaign. Each element can be incorporated into permanent exhibits as those are designed and installed. The materials nod to the history of the mill, and include oiled steel, stained wood, fabric, yarn and paper.

National Women’s Hall of Fame - Introductory Exhibit

SENECA FALLS, NY

The National Women’s Hall of Fame is expanding its space and its scope with its new venture, the Center for Impact and Inspiration. The FRAME team worked with them to develop the “Big Idea” for their new exhibits, as well as an Implementation Plan for a capital campaign to renovate and open their new facility. The team then expanded to develop the designs for an Introductory Exhibit that opened this year. The exhibit will kick off their capital campaign and provide a taste of what the Center will offer when it is fully built out.

The Introductory Exhibit provides a cohesive visitor experience, introduces tourists, locals and donors to the project, and highlights the amazing women featured in the Hall of Fame. The topics covered in the exhibits – from asking why we need a Women’s Hall of Fame at all, to describing ways in which accomplished women have been sidelined, dismissed or overlooked – touch on a wide range of American history and highlight an astonishing array of women’s stories. The Seneca Knitting Mill, a historic building important to the history and development of the region, provides a beautifully restored backdrop. The exhibits use materials, colors and finishes that reference the manufacturing and industrial history of the building and surrounding sites.
